Education/Program Planning Committee
This committee meets in July to plan educational programs for the following September – May. For information about our Education/Program Committee, contact Ellen Wentz, Director of Education/Programs.
The Advocacy Committee meets on the 4th Friday of the month to discuss timely social justice issues, review legislation at the state and federal levels, and direct Women’s Voices positions and actions on legislation and ballot measures. Gun Violence Focus Area
Our Campaign for Common-Sense Gun Solutions focuses on gun violence as a public health issue. The committee meets six times a year to discuss gun violence-related issues, legislation at the state and federal levels and Women’s Voices positions on legislation. The committee also sponsors our Lock It for Love project provides gun safety education and free gun locks to St. Louis area residents who have children living in or visiting their homes. The Racial Justice Committee addresses the complex and inter-related issues of institutional racism and racial disparities in areas such as education, health care, and housing. In 2021, the major focus areas of this work will include affordable housing and criminal legal reform. For information on the Racial Justice Committee contact Barbara Harris or Carol Wofsey.
