Lock It for Love – Request a Table
- To educate the community about gun safety, with a focus on prevention of death or injury caused by guns kept in homes.
- To distribute free gun locks, particularly in areas where children are at greatest risk of gun violence
In 2018, Women’s Voices distributed 1,386 FREE gun locks to adults in the St. Louis community with unsecured guns in their homes. Fifty-eight percent (58%) of these went to homes in “high-risk” zip codes in St. Louis (those where children are at highest risk of gun violence). These gun locks were distributed through 55 community events, as well as through partnerships with Wash U’s C.A.L.M. program and Safer Homes Collaborative, two groups working to prevent suicide. If you would like to request a Lock It for Love table at your event, please complete the form below. A representative will contact you with any additional questions or to confirm our availability. If confirmed, LIFL volunteers will staff your event free of charge. We are unable to cover fees for participation at your event, and will require a table (preferably six-foot) and two chairs.
